Sylvia and Dillard stare at the broken green alligator briefcase passed to them from the big hands of a Red Warrior Woman recently detrained in Lafayette off Amtrak's Sunset Limited, from Houston.
The woman towers over them by a full head, heightened further by a red ten-gallon hat large enough to smuggle watermelons.
They are standing on the corner of Jefferson and Cypress Streets. Where Rêve Coffee Roasters and Jim Deggy's BRICK OVEN PIZZA AND BREWERY greet arrivals passing beneath the clock tower at the Rosa Parks Transportation Centre.

Inadvertently Dillard has gotten herself into the awkward position of repairing and distributing these green Republican alligator briefcases.
Repairing them when they break, which they often do.
When working as designed, she distributes the green briefcases to politicos, trend-setters and Internet influencers willing to tote them off into the swamp, anywhere folks gather for flimflamming and propagation.
In short, Dillard has become a facilitator for the D. C. beltway Republican Snowball Mission.
"Louisiana is one of our mission's more active spots," Dillard nods to Sylvia.
"Propagating alternative Republican facts about Global Warming," She adds with a wary grin.
😏
"That it's not happening!" the big red hatted one smiles at the other two.
"Non- Global Warming,
that's where it's at.
"Not true,"
Dillard mutters under her breath,
"but what the heck."
Inside each briefcase a tiny coal dust compressed pellet feeds a little freezer unit clamped down tight alongside a crystal clear plastic cube containing a frozen, "Pure white snowball."

"To prove Mother Earth is only experiencing a passing hot flash."
The towering red warrior giggles under her big red hat.
She holds a plastic cube and sloshes its contents up one side and down the other.
"How can I do it with a wet puddle?"
A black Uber pulls up and the three climb in, almost forgetting the broken green briefcase sitting on the sidewalk.
